Mr. & Mrs. James A. Crouse, 50th Anniversary, 1974


Nineveh - Mr. and Mrs. James A. Crouse of R. D. 1. Nineveh, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary, Sunday, Oct. 27, 1974, with an open house being held in their honor in the social room of the United Valley Methodist Church.

Their children are hosting the affair and friends and relatives are invited to call between 2 and 5 p.m.

Mrs. Crouse is the former Lizzie Breese, daughter of the late Frank and Jennie Throckmorton Breese, of Rogersville. Mr. Crouse is the son of the late T. C. "Cam" and Ella Rock Crouse of Rogersville.

Their early life was spent in Rogersville area and the past 45 years has been spent at their present farm.

They were married Oct. 25, 1924, in the parsonage of the Jefferson Methodist Church by the late Rev. John C. McMinn. Rev. McMinn had also performed the marriage ceremony of Mrs. Crouse's parents.

Mr. and Mrs. Crouse are active members of the Union Valley United Methodist Church where they have been members for over 40 years.

Mr. Crouse is a retired farmer. He was self-employed for many years on his own farm in Morris Township.

The couple have five children. Mrs. Claude (Bernice) Loughman of Prosperity, RD 2, Lawrence Crouse of Nineveh, RD 1, Tom Crouse of Old Concord, Mrs. Jack (Betty) Whitlatch of Wind Ridge, and Mrs. Sheldon (Erma) Welling of East Finley. One son. George, is deceased. They also have one foster son, Charles Andrew of Glen Burnie, Md. There are fourteen grandchildren.

Mrs. Claude Loughman will host a family dinner, Oct. 26, in her home in honor of this occasion and also Mr. Crouse's birthday which is the 25th.
