Celebrated Their Golden Wedding
Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Hartley, of near Kirby, this county, celebrated their fiftieth wedding annivesary on last Wednesday. Mr. Hartley and Miss Sarah Headley were unitedin marriage Nov. 3, 1859. They are now aged 71 and 70 respectively. Their family consiste of nine children and the home circle has never been broken by death. The anniversary was pleasantly spent by an ingathering of the children and some friends. Each of the parents was presented with a pair of gold spectacles by their children. The latter are: Mrs. Permina Lemley, of Mt. Morris, L. E. Hartley, of Wadestown, W. Va., Rev. W. T. Hartley, of Noblestown, Pa., C. S. Hartley, psotmaster at Kirby; Jesse L., Ephraim E. and John L., of Kirby, Mrs. Rosella Shriver, of Rogersville, and Mrs. Estella Barrickman, of Morgantown. Mr. and Mrs. Hartley have for many years been leading members in the M. E. church and are held in high esteem by their friends and neighbors.
