Mrs. Amy C. Ammons, aged 73, wife of Simon Ammons, and a lifelong resident of Perry Township, died at 10:20 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 3, 1943, at her home following a lingering illness.

Mrs. Ammons was born May 8, 1869, a daughter of William O. Masters and Louisa Jane Cowell Masters. She was a member of the Olive Methodist Church, near Pentress, W. Va. Besides her huband [sic], she leaves one son, Chauncy D. Ammons, and one daughter, Mrs. D.M. Clark, both of Mt. Morris, R.D. 1. One son died in 1914. Mrs. Ammons was the last of her family.

AMMONS - Funeral services for Mrs. Amy C. Ammons, wife of Simon Ammons, late of Perry Township, will be held Monday afternoon, Jan. 4, 1943, with short services at the Ammons residence, near Pentress, W. Va., at 1 o'clock with further services at 2 o'clock in the Olive Methodist Church with Rev. Joseph VanSickle in charge. Interment will be in the Olive Cemetery. Friends will be received at the late residence. Samuel P. Weaver, of Waynesburg, is the funeral director.
