Mary B. Ammons
Mary B. Ammons, 99, of Mt. Morris, died at 11:35 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 1997, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown after an illness of one year. She was born May 31, 1897, in Perry Township in Greene County, daughter of Minor Lemley and Laura Shanks Lemley. A lifelong resident of Perry Township, Mrs. Ammons was a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Morris Senior Citizens and the Olive Methodist Church in Pentress, W. Va. Survivng are a daughter, Alberta L. Ammons of Mt. Morris; a son Albert Clyde Ammons of Mt. Morris; a grandson, Albert D. Ammons; a great-grandson, Chad Ammons; a sister, Hazel Fox of Mt. Morris; three brothers, Rex Lemley and Ray Lemley, both of Pentress, and Charles Ott (Blackie) Lemley of Mt. Morris; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are her husband, Chauncey D. Ammons, who died January 30, 1961; a son, Kenneth Ray Ammons; five sisters, Myrtle Bowers, twin sisters Effie and Eva Spitznogle, Mamie Stewart and Linnie Hogue; and four brothers, Raymond Lemley, Earl Lemley, Floyd Lemley and Carl Lemley.
AMMONS - Friends of Mary B. Ammons of Mt. Morris, who died Sunday, March 2, 1997, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home in Mt. Morris, where services will be held at 1 p.m.Wednesday, March 5, with the Rev. Willard Morse officiating. Interment in Olive Cemetery in Pentress, W. Va.
