William A. Bailey Sr.
Worked for J&L Division of LTV Corp., Aliquippa William A. Bailey Sr., 80, of Economy Borough, died Saturday, January 23, 1999, in The Medical Center, Beaver, following a brief illness. Born April 26, 1918, in Morgantown, W.Va., he was a son of Elva Frank and Ruth Fry Bailey. Mr. Bailey resided in Economy for the past 24 years, and formerly lived in Baden. He was employed in the tin mill of the J&L Divison of LTV Corp., Aliquippa, for 25 years, retiring in 1966. He was a member of Economy United Methodist Church. Mr. Bailey enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Ethel F. Glover Bailey; two sons, John Bailey of Oak Harbor, Wash., and William A. Bailey Jr. of Chantilly, Va.; two daughters, Nancy Stankus of Nashua, N.H., and Anne Jane Davisson of Florida; 11 grandchildren, Brenda L., Danielle N., David W., Charles R., Betsy, Greg, Mark, Patrick, Cathy, Susan and Michael; 20 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Harry Bailey of Fordyce and Hagen Bailey of Greensburg.
BAILEY - Friends of William A. Bailey Sr. of Economy Borough, who died Saturday, January 23, 1999, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in John Syka Funeral Home, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where a service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 27, with the Rev. Dennis J. Howard officiating. Interment will be in Farrell United Methodist Church Cemetery, Whitelee Township, Waynesburg.
