Thomas Sayers Baily Former Waynesburg insurance agency partner. Thomas Sayers Baily, 91, of Friendship Village, Upper St. Clair, formerly of Waynesburg, died Friday, November 9, 2001, in St. Clair Memorial Hospital, Mt. Lebanon. He was born June 28, 1910, in Carmichaels, a son of Harry F. and Lucy Sayers Baily. Mr. Baily was a 1928 graduate of Waynesburg High School and received a civil engineering degree from Carnegie Tech in 1933. He was a World War II veteran who served in the Pacific Theater and earned a Bronze Star. Mr. Baily was a partner in Baily Insurance Agency in Waynesburg from 1942 to 1976. He resided most of his life in Waynesburg, moving to Friendship Village in 1994, and was a member of Mt. Lebanon United Presbyterian Church. Mr. Baily was a past master of Waynesburg Lodge 153 F&AM, a member of Syria Temple AAONOMS, Andrew Carnegie Society, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a past president of Greene County Industrial Development Authority and served on the board of directors of First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Greene County. He was a former trustee and Boy Scout chairman at First Presbyterian Church of Waynesburg. On September 7, 1940, he married Inis S. Saugenhaupt, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Thomas S. Baily II of Mt. Lebanon; a granddaughter, Amy Baily; and two great-granddaughters. His twin brother, John E. Baily, is deceased.
BAILY - A memorial service for Thomas Sayers Baily of Friendship Village, Upper St. Clair, formerly of Waynesburg, who died Friday, November 9, 2001, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 14, in St. Clair room at Friendship Village, 1290 Boyce Road, Upper St. Clair.
