Samuel S. Bayard, 92, of Holbrook R.D. 1, died at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 1989, in
Greene County Memorial Hospital.
Born November 4, 1896, in Holbrook, he was a son of James Bayard and Belle Fordyce Bayard Moore. Mr. Bayard was a lifelong resident of Holbrook and a self-employed farmer prior to his retirement due to ill health. He was a member of the Holbrook Christian Church, where he had formerly served as Sunday school superintendent. A graduate of Center Township High School in 1916, he was a 1920 graduate of Penn State University. Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. George (Helene) Blake of Holbrook and Naomi Dillman of Berlin, Wisc.; and two nephews, John Filby of Beaver Falls and Edwin Filby of Cleveland, Ohio.
