Marlene S. Bennett
Lifelong resident of Greene County Marlene S. Bennett, 56, of Waynesburg R.D.5, formerly of Mt. Morris, died at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2000, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital emergency room of an apparent heart attack. She was born August 14, 1943, in Mt. Morris, a daughter of the late Minor and Virginia Presock Fordyce. Mrs. Bennett lived her entire life in Greene County, was a homemaker and affiliated with the Pentecostal faith. Her husband, Sylvanus A. Bennett, whom she married March 3, 1962, survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Valerie S. Woods of Waynesburg R.D.5, Barbara E. Bennett, at home, Tonja L. Grimes of Waynesburg R.D.4 and Peggy Grimes of Kirby; two sons, Venie L. Bennett of Waynesburg R.D.5 and William J. Bennett of Waynesburg; eight grandchildren, Jonathan and Natasha Woods, Danielle, Garet and Clarissa Bennett and Russie, Joshua and Caleb Grimes; three sisters, Shirley Caviness and Mildred Johnson, both of Springfield, Ill., and Grace Conklin of Waynesburg; two brothers, Raymond Fordyce of Kuhntown and Paul Fordyce of Wyoming, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews, including a niece, Katrina Johnson of Springfield, Ill., whom Mrs. Bennett raised.
BENNETT - Friends of Marlene S. Bennett of Waynesburg R.D.5, formerly of Mt. Morris, who died Tuesday, March 21, 2000, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 24, with the Rev.
