Mildred M. Blaker
Retired from Mt. Morris Post Office Mildred M. Blaker, 93, of Mt. Morris R.D.1, died at 6:50 a.m. Monday, November 23, 1998, at home, following a brief illness. She was born July 13, 1905, in Brock, a daughter of Francis Marion and Elizabeth Fox Wade. Mrs. Blaker lived her entire life in Greene County and was a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School. She was a member of Valley Chapel United Methodist Church, where for many years she served as pianist and taught junior Sunday school class. For 18 1/2 years, she worked at Mt. Morris Post Office, retiring in 1975. On February 21, 1923, she married Willis G. Blaker Sr., who died January 21, 1979. Surviving are a son, Willis G. "Jerry" Blaker Jr. of Mt. Morris R.D.1; two grandchildren, Pamela Sue Blaker and Willis G. "Jay" Blaker III; and several nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family. Deceased are three sisters, Artie Renner, Virgie Nine and one who died in infancy; and two brothers, Earl and Dewey F. Wade.
BLAKER - Friends of Mildred M. Blaker of Mt. Morris R.D.1, who died Monday, November 23, 1998, will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, and from noon until 1 p.m., the time of services, Wednesday, November 25, in Valley Chapel United Methodist Church, Brock, with the Revs. Joseph Weaver and Kathy Higgins officiating.
