Arveda L. Christopher
Longtime resident of Jefferson Arveda L. Christopher, 73, of Dry Tavern, died at 5 a.m. Monday, November 3, 1997, in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a lengthy illness. She was born January 5, 1924, in Jefferson, a daughter of Charles and Margaret Wells Davis. Mrs. Christopher was a homemaker and lived most of her life in Jefferson, where she was a member of Jefferson Methodist Church and its Philathea Class. She was a member of Jefferson and Carmichaels Senior Citizens and Filer-Sadlek Post 954 Jefferson American Legion Auxiliary. On April 6, 1947, she married Wilbur E. Christopher, who died July 9, 1990. Surviving are two sons, Allen Christopher of Carmichaels R.D.1 and Edwin Christopher of Rices Landing; a daughter, Judy Kolat of Rices Landing; five grandchildren, Tracy Becker, Kim Kuhns, Cary Kolat and John Allen Christopher and Adam Christopher; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lucille Madlock of Jefferson and Wanita Giovanelli of Fredericktown.
CHRISTOPHER - Friends of Arveda L. Christopher of Dry Tavern, who died Monday, November 3, 1997, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Behm Funeral Home Inc., Route 188, Jefferson, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 6, with the Rev.
