Mrs. Emma S. Cole Edwin H. Cole

Edwin H. Cole, 58, of Oak Forest, suffered a fatal heart attack Friday, while he and his two brothers were making arrangements for their mother's funeral.

Mr. Cole, who suffered the attack at 11:30 a.m. in the Robert L. Lantz Funeral Home at Rogersville, was dead on arrival at Greene County Memorial Hospital. It was reported that he had a medical history involving heart trouble.

His two brothers, Lawrence D. and Ralph Cole, both of Waynesburg, R. D. 5, were later treated by physicians for shock.

Their mother, Emma S. Cole, 82, of Oak Forest, had died at 9:35 a.m. Thursday at Blairsville following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Cole, the mother, was born January 4, 1883, in Center Township, a daughter of Thomas and Jane Rush Gilbert. She was the widow of Jesse Cole, who died in 1942. She had resided all her life in the Oak Forest areaand was a member of the Oak Forest Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to the two sons, Lawrence D. and Ralph Cole, are four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Flora Sellers, of Holbrook and Mrs. Belle Smith, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Another son, Paul, three brothers and two sisters are deceased.

Edwin H. Cole was born January 16, 1907 in Center Township and resided most of his life at Oak Forest, where he was a member of the Oak Forest Methodist Church.

He was a veteran of World War II and a retired truck driver, having been employed by Levine's Iron and Metal Company.

Surviving in addition to his two brothers is a son, Robert Cole, serving with the Air Force at Fort Riley, Kan.

Funeral services were held Jan. 31, 1965, with burial in the Pursley Cemetery, Oak Forest.

Edwin H. Cole, 58, of Oak Forest, was dead on arrival at the Greene County Memorial Hospital at about 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 29, 1965, after suffering a heart attack while making funeral arrangements for his mother who died Thursday.

He was born January 16, 1907 in Center Township, to the late Jesse and Enna Gilbert Cole. He was a truck driver for Levine Iron and Metal of West Waynesburg until his retirement and was a veteran of World War II.

Surviving is a son, Robert with the U.S. Air Force at Ft. Riley, Kansas and two brothers, Lawrence D. Cole of Waynesburg and Ralp Cole of Waynesburg R.D. 5. A brother Paul is deceased.

Most of his life was spent in the Oak Forest area where he was a member of the Oak Forest Methodist Church.
