Mrs. Hannah C. Cole
Mrs. Hannah Lee Cooper Cole, aged 76 years and eight months, widow of Peter Cole and widely known in southwestern Greene County, died at 8:30 o'clock Sunday morning, Dec. 24, 1939, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. R. Gump. Mrs. Cole had been ill for twelve weeks, suffering from a complication of ailments incident to advanced years. A daughter of John B. Cooper and Mary Fordyce Cooper, she was born April 26, 1863, in Center Township, but spent most of her life in Wayne Township. In December, 1880, she was married to Peter Cole, whose death occurred May 21, 1938. Mrs. Cole was a member of the Kent Methodist Church at Brave. The following children survive: J. W. Cole of Bristoria; Mrs. H. W. Patterson, of Pursley; Mrs. B. R. Gump, Mrs. J. I. Kent, Mrs. Roy L. Wise, Mrs. G. B. Shultz, and W. O. Cole, all of Brave. There are 24 grandchildrenand five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Cole was the last of a famiy of four children. Newspaper obituary, date and source unknown (Greene County, Pennsylvania)
COLE - Funeral services for Mrs. Hannah Lee Cooper Cole, of Brave, will be held Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 26. Short services at the home of a daughter, Mrs. B. R. Gump, at one o'clock will be followed by services at 1:30 in the Kent Methodist Church with the Rev. G. D. Watts and Rev. Mr. Henthorne officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion cemetery. MRS. PETER COLE DIES IN HOME OF DAUGHTER WAYNESBURG, Dec. 25. - Mrs. Hannah Lee Cooper Cole, 76, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. R. Gump, of Brave, on Sunday, December 24, at 8:30 a.m. Her death followed an illness of 12 weeks. Mrs. Cole was born in Center Township, April 26, 1863. She was a daughter of John B. and Mary Fordyce Cooper and was married December 1, 1880, to Peter Cole, who died May 21, 1938. She lived the greater part of her life in Wayne Township and was a member of the Kent Methodist Church at Brave. There survive the following children: J. W. Cole, of Bristoria; Mrs. H. W. Patterson, of Pursley; Mrs. J. I. Kent, Mrs. Roy L. Wise, Mrs. G. B. Shultz, W. O. Cole and Mrs. B. R. Gump, all of Brave. There also survive 24 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was the last of a family of four. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon, December 26.
