Lawrence D. (Tubby) Cole

Lawrence D. (Tubby) Cole, 60, of the Blair Hotel, Waynesburg, died Saturday, February 13, 1965, some two weeks after the death of his mother and on of his two brothers.

He died at 10:25 p.m. in University Hospital at Morgantown, W. Va., where he had been a patient for two weeks. He was admitted two days after his brother, Edwin H. Cole, 58, of Oak Forest, died of a heart attack while the three brothers were making arrangements for the funeral of their mother, Mrs. Emma Cole, 82, of Oak Forest.

Mrs. Cole died on January 28 and Edwin H. Cole the following day.

Lawrence Cole, a son of Jesse and Emma GIlbert Cole, was born March 7, 1904, in Center Township and was a member of the Oak Forest Methodist Church. He had been employed for a number of years as a mechanic by the W. P. L. E. Freight Line Company, but for the past several years had worked for the Rohanna Iron and Metal Company.

Surviving are his wife, Irene Watson Cole; two sons, Paul M. Cole, of Waynesburg, R. D. 4, and Larry Cole, of Oak Forest; one daughter, Carol, wife of Thomas Rush, of Willoughby, Ohio; three grandchildren, and one brother, Ralph Cole, of Oak Forest.

Another brother, Paul, is also deceased.

Services were held Tuesday with burial in Pursely Cemetery.

Lawrence D. (Tubby) Cole, 60, of the Blair Hotel in Waynesburg, Saturday, became the third member of his immediate family to die in the past 18 days. Cole, a mechanic for the Waynesburg-Pittsburgh Local Express (WPLE), died at 10:25 p.m. Saturday, February 13, in the University Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va., after being seriously ill for the past two weeks. He became ill in a Rogersville Funeral Home the day after his brother, Edward, died of a heart attack while making funeral arrangements for thier mother, Emma Gilbert Cole, who had died the day before on January 28. Mr. Cole was born March 7, 1904, in Center Township to the late Jessie and Emma Gilbert Cole. He had previously been employed by Lavine's Iron & Metal Co., in West Waynesburg. He is survived by his wife, Irene Watson Cole; two sons, Paul M. Cole of Waynesburg R.D. 4 and Larry Cole of Oak Forest; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Carol) Rush of Willoughby, Ohio; three grandchildren and a brother, Ralph, of Oak Forest. A brother, Paul, is also deceased. He was a member of the Oak Forest Methodist Church.
