Kathryn F. Cowell, 66, of Mount Morris Star Rt., Waynesburg, died at 11:30 p.m. Monday, November 17, 1980 at Monongalia General Hospital following an illness of two weeks. She was born May 22, 1914 at Perry Township near Mount Morris, the daughter of Goldie Mae Wade Russell of R.D. 1, Mount Morris, and the late Eli Hampton Russell. February 25, 1933 she married Donald B. Cowell, who survives. She spent most of her life in Mount Morris, and resided in the Waynesburg area for the past 47 years. She was a tax collector in Whiteley Township for eight years, and a member of the Mount Morris United Methodist Church. In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Donald J. (Joanna) Throckmorton of Mount Morris Star Route; eight sons, James E. Cowell, Robert D. Cowell, M. Russell Cowell, and Ronald O. Cowell, all of Waynesburg, Charles E. Cowell of Bay Village, Ohio, Donald R. Cowell and D. Keith Cowell, both of Mount Morris Star Route, and Gary R. Cowell of Marietta, Ohio; 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Robert (Wilma) Pyles of Mount Morris; and two brothers, R. Dale Russell of Waynesburg and Milford Russell of Mount Morris. An infant son and a brother Eugene Russell, both preceded her in death.
