Clarence A. (Shader) Crouse, 81, of Rogersville, died in his home at 9:30 p.m. Saturday,
April 4, 1981. Although he had been in failing health, his death was unexpected.
He was born May 7, 1899, in Center Township, a son of Edward and Clara Belle Huffman Crouse. He lived in Center Township for most of his life. Mr. Crouse graduated from Center Township High School in 1917 and was a sandlot baseball player as a youth and young man. He worked in te oil and gas fields all his life and for 35 years was employed by the Equitable Gas Co., retiring in 1964 as tour foreman at the company's Rogersville station. Mr. Crouse was a member of the Rogersville Christian Church and of Waynesburg Elks Lodge 757. His wife, Della Phillips Crouse, wnom he married May 4, 1921, died August 5, 1979. Surviving are a son, Paul E. Crouse of Rogersville; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Mary) Orndoff of Everett and Mrs. Robert (Eva Lorene "Susie") Stephenson of Waynesburg; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Crouse - Friends of Clarence A. (Shader) Crouse of Rogersville, who died Saturday, April 4, 1981, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Robert L. Lantz Funeral Home, Rogersville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, by the Rev. Donald Wilson. Interment in Rosemont Cemetery, Rogersville.
