S. Elizabeth Crouse, 90, of Waynesburg, died Sunday, May 15, 1994, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, following a six month illness.
She was born March 1, 1904, in Center Township, a daughter of Frank and Catherine Throckmorton Breese. Mrs. Crouse had lived in Morris Township from 1929 until moving to Waynesburg in 1992. She was a member of Union Valley United Methodist Church, where she had formerly served as a lay leader for several years and was a former Sunday school teacher. She was a member of Community Sewing Circle of Time and was an avid quilter and a member of the Waynesburg Senior Citizens. On October 25, 1924, she married James Albert Crouse, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Bernice L. Loughman of Prosperity Pike, Prosperity; Betty A Crouse of Waynesburg, and Mrs. Larry (Erma) Anderson of Graysville R. D. 1; two sons, Lawrence E, Crouse of Graysville R.D. 1, and Thomas Crouse, of Prosperity Pike, Prosperity; one brother, James Breese of Waynesburg; three sisters, Ivy Crouse of Waynesburg, Pearle Conkey of Cameron Star Route, Waynesburg, and Mrs.John (Ruth) Bartolovich of Waynesburg R. D. 4; one stepsister, Helen Hewitt of Westover, W. Va.; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren. Deceased are one son, George W. Crouse; on foster son, Charles Andrew; one brother, Wesley Breese; and four sisters, Lucy Breese, Annie Tharp, Fannie Conklin and Mary Johnston.
