Ray Cumberledge, 61, of Nettle Hill, died at 10 A. M. Thursday, March 6, 1958, at his home after a lingering illness. He was a farmer. Born June 15, 1896, in Wayne Township, he was a son of Samuel and Nancy Wise Cumberledge, both deceased. He spent most of his life in Jackson Twp. He is survived by his wife, Nell Stockdale Cumberledge, whom he married July 25, 1918, two sons, Paul, of Columbus, Ohio, and Robert at home, a daughter, Margretta, wife of Kenneth Replogle of Dunedin, Fla.; two grandchildren, one step-grandchild and two sisters, Mrs. Ray Stockdale of Holbrook, RD 1 and Mrs. Conrad Stockdale of Painesville, Ohio. One brother, Lee, is deceased. He was a member of the Bethany Methodist Church. CUMBERLEDGE - Friends of Ray Cumberledge of Nettle Hill, who died Thursday, March 6, 1958, will be received after 7 p.m. today (Friday) at the Robert L. Lantz Funeral Home of Rogersville until 11:30 a.m. Sunday, March 9, and then from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, the hour of the service at the Bethany Methodist Church where funeral services will be held with Rev. Olaf N. Carlsen and Rev. Kenneth C. Emmerling, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery. Democrat Messenger, March 7, 1958 (Greene County, PA)
