Charles Leslie Davis
Charles Leslie Davis, 51, life long resident of the Jefferson community, died at his home in Jefferson yesterday (Wednesday), Jan. 3, 1945, at 12:10 p.m. A son of Randolph Davis, deceased, and Anna Pernelia Davis, now a resident of Beaver, he was born Dec. 29, 1893, in Jefferson Township, and was a member of the Jefferson Methodist Church. He had been employed by the Equitable Gas Company for a number of years and at the time of his death was employed at the company's compressing station at Zollarsville. He married Margaret Wells who survives with three daughters, Lucille, Arveda and Wanita, at home. He also is survived by two sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Mary Fleming, Beaver; Mrs. Eva Dowlin, Waynesburg, R. D.; William Davis, Belle Vernon, and LeMoyne Davis, McKeepsort. DAVIS - Funeral services for Charles Leslie Davis, of Jefferson, who died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 1945, will be held Saturday, Jan. 6, with services at the Davis home at 2 p.m. followed by further rites in the Jefferson Methodist Church at 2:30. Services will be in charge of Rev. Kenneth G. Coggon. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the home. John Lucas, of Jefferson, is the funeral director.
