Clarence F. Davis
Clarence F. Davis, 83, of 1848 Greentree Road, Pittsburgh, formerly of Greene County, died at 10:15 p.m. Friday, May 24, 1991, in the Leader Nursing Home, Pittsburgh. He was born June 17, 1907, in Pentress, West Virginia, a son of Donald C. and Cecilia Sines Davis. Mr. Davis spent most of his life in Greene County. He was a member and elder at Graysville Presbyterian Church and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Spraggs. Mr. Davis retired in 1972 after more than 30 years with Jessop Steel Co. of Washington. He was a member of East Franklin Grange 1709. Mr. Davis served on the Greene County Senior Citizens Council for 13 years, and previously held positions of vice chairman and chairman. He was a current member of its bowling team. He served as a representative to the AAA Nutritional Council. His first wife, Ethyl E. Fordyce Davis, died September 1966. His second wife, Anice Rush Hoy Davis, died March 26, 1978. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Allison (Junia Lee) Campbell of Pitsburgh, Mrs. Jack (Celia J.) Reynolds of Peters Township and Gloria Jean Davis of Bowie, Texas; a son, Clarence C. Davis, of Claysville; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Alberta Felty of Chicago, Ill.; two half sisters, Dorothy Hawn of Florida and Shirly Policz of Jefferson; three half brothers, Frank Davis of Zelienople, Jack Davis of Ohio and Donald Davis of Los Angeles, Calif.; two stepsons, Thomas E. Hoy of Waynesburg and John HOy of Carmichaels; and a stepdaughter, Peggy Litten of Waynesburg. Deceased are a brother, Winifred B. Davis; and two half brothers, Edward and Roy Davis.
