Margaret Davis

Margaret W. Davis, 83, of Jefferson, died at 12:50 p.m. Monday, April 20, 1987, in Greene County Memorial Hospital. She had been ill for the past two years.

She was born January 13, 1904, in Waynesburg, a daughter of George and Laura Wilson Wells.

Her husband, Charles L. Davis, died in 1945.

She lived most of her life in Jefferson. She attended Jefferson High School. She owned and operated a restaurant in Jefferson for many years. For five years she managed the fountain service at Herd's Drug Store in Washington.

She was a 50-year member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Phlathea Class and the WSCS of the church. She also was a member of the Jefferson American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Lucile) Madlock and Mrs. Wilbur (Arveda) Christoipher, both of Jefferson and Mrs. Otto (Wanita) Giovanelli of Fredericktown; o grandchldren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Grace W. Weaver of Lexington, Ky.

A sister, Virginia Jackson, is deceased.
