Waynesburg- George A. Delaney, 91, 71 S. Washington St. , Waynesburg, died at 3:30 A. M., Thursday, Jan. 18 in the Greene Co. Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

He was born Jan. 4, 1888 in Perry Township near Brock the son of the late Jerry and Catherine Fordyce Delaney.

He was married to Ella King Delaney who died March 24, 1962. With the exception of his early life spent in the Wadestown, W. Va., area he spent his life in the Waynesburg area.

A member of the Highland Methodist Church in West Virginia he attended the Nazarene Church of Waynesburg during the last few years.

He was employed in the oil and gas fields for Carnegie Gas Co.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Wood (Edna) Blair of Waynesburg, Mrs. William (Edith) Zimmers of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Mildred Tennant of Waynesburg and Mrs. Frank (Katherine) Black of Waynesburg; three sons, Hiram of Waynesburg, Leroy of RD 4, Waynesburg and Alfred of RD 4, Waynesburg; two great great granddaughters.

Preceding him in death are two sons, William and Charles; one daughter, Bertha; four sisters, Sally, Cally, Grace and Frances; three brothers, David, Ed and Blaine; two granddaughters.
