Highly Esteemed Resident of Community Buried This Afternoon
Wesley P. Downs, 85 years of age, passed away about three o'clock Monday morning at his home in Pierceton. He had been ill for several weeks. Mr. Downs was highly respected in this community and his many friends will mourn his passing. He was formerly employed as a section boss on the Pennsylvania Railroad, and had been on the retirement list of the railroad for several years. He is survived by his wife; one son, Merle Downs, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Fred Pletcher, of Fort Wayne, and a brother, R.G. Downs of Fort Wayne. He is also survived by several grandchildren. The funeral services were held at the Downs home this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Von Chesterman officiated. Interrment was made in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Undertaker Harry A. Ashey in charge.
