Ross Evans, aged 78 years, of Holbrook, R.D. 1, died unexpectedly at 9 a.m. Monday, October 4, 1965, at his home. He was born February 4, 1887, in Jackson Township, a son of John L. and Della Hughes Evans. Mr. Evans was a farmer. He resided all his life in Jackson Township where he served as township road supervisor, auditor and school director. On November 30, 1911, he married Lucretia Bayard Evans, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Miss Helene Evans, at home; one sister, Miss Ada Evans, of Waynesburg; and two brothers, J. Oscar Evans, of Pine Bank and Kenneth B. Evans, of Waynesburg, R. D. 5. One brother, Harvey, and one sister, Margaret, are deceased. Newspaper obituary, date and source unknown (Greene County, PA)
