Agnes Gregory Fordyce Obituary

Mrs. Agnes Gregory Fordyce, 75, widow of R. Reed Fordyce, Benwood, died Friday afternoon at 3:15 o'clock in the Wheeling hospital. She had been ill since January and confined to the hospital for the past 12 days.

Mrs Fordyce was born in Mason City, WV, February 2, 1871, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Gregory. Her parents came to Wheeling to reside when she was a child and she had spent the remainder of her life in this district.

A resident of Benwood since 1891, her home was at 1350 High street.

Her husband, R. Reed Fordyce, preceeded her in death in 1918.

Mrs. Fordyce was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Benwood, and was affiliated with Branch 346, L. C. B. A. of St. Joseph's Cathedral parish.

Surviving are five daughters, Sister M. Vincent of the Sisters of the Visitation, Wilmington, Dela., Mrs. R. J. Uttermohlen of Bethlehem, Mrs. C. J. Maloney and Mrs. Walter Mason, both of Wheeling, Mrs. R. J. Boyd and Mrs. Rex Stickel of Warwood; three sons, R. Leo Fordyce of this city, Vincent Fordyce of Benwood, Francis Fordyce at home, and nine grandchildren.

The body was removed to the Altmeyer Funeral home where brief services will be held Monday morning at 9:15 o'clock to be followed by High Mass of Requiem at 10 o'clock in St. John's church, Benwood.

Internment will be in Mount Cavalry cemetary.

Branch 346, L. C. B. A. of St. Joseph's Cathedral parish will meet Sunday evening in the funeral home to resite the rosary.
