FORDYCE - A. G. Fordyce, merchant of Bluff, died Wednesday evening July 30, 1902.
Mr. Fordyce arose as usual Wednesday morning and went to the store and swept out.
Soon after he was taken sick, after noon Dr. Gromes, of Oak Forest, arrived but the
patient was unconscious. He had been drinking some cinnamon and peppermint drops which
is thought to have contained enough wood alcohol to cause death. Deceased leaves a wife
and seven children. He was a brother to Barney Fordyce, of this place and Silas Fordyce
and Mrs. Ananias White, of Bluff. Jesse Fordyce, of Waynesburg, is a nephew. The funeral
takes place to-day.
