Andrew J. (Dick) Fordyce, 60, of 210 West Lincoln Street, Waynesburg died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 1977 in the Oakland Veterans Hospital, Pittsburgh following an extended illness.

He was born March 12, 1917 in Whiteley Township near Garards Fort, the son of Joseph M. and Rebecca Rice Fordyce.

All his life was spent in the Waynesburg area. He was affiliated with the Church of God of Prophecy in West Waynesburg. He served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific during World War II and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Greene County Chapter 123 of Waynesburg.

He was employed as a construction worker and also with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company at Akron, Ohio.

He is survived by his widow, Naomi Tucker Fordyce; five chldren: Kimberly, Richard, Josephine, William and Charles and two stepdaughters, Linda Temple and Donna Yoder.

Also surviving are five sisters: Mrs. Flora Herrod of Waynesburg, Mrs. Mary Plyes of R.D. 1, Waynesburg; Mrs. Margaret Callahan of Waynesburg, Mrs. Olive Fox of R.D. 1, Clarksville and Mrs. George (Josephine) Kern of R.D. 4, Waynesburg; five brothers: Minor Fordyce and George Fordyce of Waynesburg, Hartford Fordyce of Homestead, Joseph Fordyce of Waynesburg and Miller Fordyce of Clarksville.

A sister and brother are deceased.
