Benson E. Fordyce

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon for Benson E. Fordyce, aged 54, who died of pneumonia at 4:45 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 1934, at the home of his sister, Mrs. George Burnette, of Carmichaels, following an illness of three days. The rites were conducted in the Burnette home at 2 o'clock by Rev. John O. Miller, pastor the the First Presbyterian church of Carmichaels, assisted by Rev. L. L. Crooks, of the Muddy Creek Methodist Episcopal church. Interment was in the Muddy Creek cemetery.

Mr. Fordyce was a son of Corbly C. and Lydia Biddle Fordyce, and was born in Whiteley. He spent most of his life in the Carmichaels community with the exception of a few years when he was in Kansas. He was one of the most widely known soprtsmen of eastern Greene county and was a lifelong member of the Muddy Creek Presbyterian church. He served for several years as a notary public in Carmichaels. He leaves two sisters, Mrs. George Burnette and Mrs. Charles Evans, both of Carmichaels.

BENSON EARL FORDYCE IS PNEUMONIA VICTIM

CARMICHAELS, April 22. - Benson Earl Fordyce, aged 54 years, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. George Burnette, Saturday, April 21, 1934, at 4:40 a.m., of pneumonia, after a three-day illness.

He was a son of Corbly C. and Lydia Biddle Fordyce, and was born in Whiteley. He spent most of his life in the Carmichaels community, except for a few years in Kansas.

He leaves two sisters, Mrs. George Burnette and Mrs. Charles Evans, both of Carmichaels.

He was one of the most widely known sportsmen in this vicinity. He was a lifelong member of the Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church and served as a notary public for several years in Carmichaels.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Burnette home, in charge of Rev. John O. Miller, of the First Presbyterian Churc, assisted by Rev. L. L. Crooks, of the Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church, and Rev. Harold Kellogg, of the Carmichaels Methodist Episcopal Church. Interment will be in the Muddy Creek Cemetery.
