Denny Fordyce, 87, of Washington R.D. 4, died at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, 1980, in Washington Hospital after a two month illness. He was born September 19, 1893 in Miracle Run, W. Va., a son of John Barnett and Anna Fox Fordyce. He was a member of the Church of the Covenant, Washington. Mr. Fordyce has been employed in the oil and gas fields of Washington and Greene Counties both as a driller and pumper, and was a retired employee of Dunmar Oil Co. His wife, Martha Ferrell Fordyce, died August 29, 1969. Surviving are a son, Denny Fordyce Jr. of Akron, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Les (Betty Ruth) Hixon, of Atchison, Kan., and Mrs. David O. (Sara Lee) Johnson of Washington; one brother, Forney W. Fordyce of Claysville; two sisters, Mrs. H. R. (Jessie) Ealy of Waynesburg and Mrs. Frank (Edna) Ealy of Graysville; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A brother James Fordyce and a sister, Jennie Devine are deceased.
