Edward C. Fordyce
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon for Edward C. Fordyce, aged 59, prominent farmer and stockman of the Pine Bank community, who died at 2 o'clock Christmas morning, Dec. 25, 1934, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital following a ten-day illness due to ulcers of the stomach. Following short services at the Fordyce home, further rites were conducted in the Pine Bank Methodist Episcopal Church with Rev. C. C. Fisher, of Waynesburg, and Rev. Lew F. Johnson, of New Freeport, in charge. Interment was in the Pine Bank Cemetery. A son of Joseph B. and Louisa Garrison Fordyce, he was born February 23, 1875, at Pine Bank and spent all his life in that community. Besides his wife, Eleanor Kent Fordyce, he leaves two sons, Kent C. Fordyce, of Cheswick, and Joseph I. Fordyce, of Mannington, W. Va., and one half-sister, Miss Maggie Hagan, of Pine Bank.
