Mrs. Oliver Fordyce
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma V. Fordyce, of near Brownsburg, who died on May 12, were held Thursday afternoon, May 14, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Otis Gardner, in Brownsburg. She was a daughter of the late Rev. Nathaniel Gosset, the Gosset family being pioneers in Hendricks county. All of her lifetime was spent near or in Brownsburg. Before her marriage in 1882 to Oliver M. Fordyce she was a school teacher. Mr and Mrs. Fordyce would have celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary in November of this year. Surviving, besides the husband, are three daughters and one son, Mrs. William Gorrell of Avon, William G. Fordyce, of Danville, Mrs. J. J. Gambold of Coatesville, and Mrs. Otis Garner of Brownsburg, together with five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Plainfield Messenger, May 21, 1942 (Hendricks County, IN) |
