George B. Fordyce, 79, of Porter Street Extension, Waynesburg, died of a heart attack Sunday, February 5, 1989, in his home. He was born May 19, 1909 in Whiteley Township, a son of Joseph and Rebecca Rice Fordyce. He was a retired employee of the state Department of Transportation and had worked for several area farmers. He was a lifetime resident of the Waynesburg area. He was Protestant. He is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Davis of North Carolina; a son, George B. Fordyce Jr. of Washington D.C.; three grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin Fordyce of CLarksville R.D. 1 and Hartford Fordyce of Munhall; and three sisters, Olive Fox of Clarksville R.D. 1, Margaret Callahan and Josephine Kern, both of Warren, Ohio. Deceased in addition to his wife, are three brothers, Joseph, Dick and Minor Fordyce; and two sisters, Flora Herrod and Mary Pyles. Newspaper obituary, source and date unknown (Greene County, Ohio)
