GEORGE F. FORDYCE

George Franklin Fordyce, 79, well known farmer and lifelong resdient of the Brown's Run section of Wetzel County, W. Va., died Sunday evening, April 30, 1950, at 7:30 at the home of his son, Aubrey Fordyce, near Littleton, W. Va. Death came suddenly from a cerebral hemorrhage.

A son of Joseph and Sarah Elizabeth Carter Fordyce, he was born June 2, 1871, on Brown's Run and followed farming there all his life. He was a member of the Sand Hill Church of Christ. Besides his wife, Dove Ryan Fordyce, of Mannington, W. Va., he leaves four daughters and five sons: Mrs. Nora Gump of Ned, Mrs. Roberta Wood of Fairmont, W. Va., Mrs. Maude Stevens of Mannington, W. Va., Aubrey Fordyce of near Littleton, W. Va., Orvis, Esther, and Alexander Fordyce of Mannington, W. Va., Arley Fordyce of Ned, George Fordyce, Jr. of Elyria, O. Also surviving are three sisters and three brothers: Mrs. Ray Flaherty of Ned, Mrs. Flora Stephan of Mannington, W. Va., Mrs. Lydia Fordyce of Littleton, W. Va., John and WIlliam Fordyce of Ned, and Thomas Fordyce of Cameron, W. Va.


FORDYCE - Friends of George Franklin Fordyce of near Littleton, W. Va., who died Sunday evening, April 30, 1950, are being received at the home of his son, Aubrey Fordyce, near Littleton, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 3. Burial will be in the Sand Hill Cemetery. Garrett Hunt of Burton, W. Va., funeral director.
