Hazel E. Fordyce, 88, of North East, formerly of Waynesburg, died Saturday, August 8, 1981,
in Aurora Park Nursing Home.
She was born December 7, 1892 in Kirby, a daugher of Henry M. and Harriet E. Bradford. Mrs. Fordyce was a resident of North East from 1926 until 1971, making her home with a daughter. She was a member of the Park United Methodist Church in North East, Shiloh Chapter No. 153, Order of the Eastern Star and Triangle Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her husband, Roy A. Fordyce, died in 1967. He was a vocational-agricultural teacher at North East High School from 1926 to 1956. Surviving are a daughter, Mae Jean Frazell of Hamburg; a sister, Mrs. Earl Titus of East Liverpool, Ohio; and three sisters -in-law from this area, Hester F. Orndoff of Waynesburg R.D. 5; Mary F. Mitchell of Rogersville and Olive F. DeLancy of Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh. A son, Robert A. Fordyce was killed in action during World War II. Burial was held Tuesday in North East Cemetery.
