JOHN FORDYCE

John Fordyce, 85, of Mt. Morris, R. D. 1, died at his home at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 1952, following an illness of two years.

A son of the late Jackson and Elizabeth King Fordyce, the deceased was born April 1, 1867 in Whiteley Township. He was a farmer and resided most of his life in Dunkard Township.

Mr. Fordyce was twice married. His first wife, Anna Herrod Fordyce, preceded him in death a number of years ago.

Surviving are his wife, Jennie Johnson Fordyce; two daughters by his first marriage, Mrs. Albert Harris and Mrs. John W. Rowe, both of Pt. Marion; a daughter and son by his second marriage, Mrs. Albert Arthur of Waynesburg R. D. 2, and Arleigh Fordyce of Painsville, Ohio; seven grandchildren, and one brother, Joseph Fordyce of Waynesburg R. D. 2.


FORDYCE - Short funeral services for John Fordyce of Mt. Morris, R. D. 1, who died Saturday, Dec. 6, 1952, will be held at the late home at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, followed by further services at 2 p.m. in the Taylortown Baptist Church with the Rev. W. C. Long officiating, assisted by Mrs. Helen Gallenton. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Taylortown. Friends will be received at the late home after 3 p.m. today (Monday). Weaver Funersl Home, Waynesburg, in charge.
