Mrs. Louise M. Fordyce
Mrs. Louise M. Fordyce, aged 88, one of the most widely known women of southwestern Greene county, died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at her home near Pine Bank. Mrs. Fordyce had been in failing health for the past three years and her death was due to ailments incident to her advanced years. A daughter of Abner and Hannah Morris Garrison, she was born August 16, 1845, in Gilmore township and was the last of a family of ten children. She was twice married. Her first husband, John Hagan, died in 1866, and her second husband, J. B. Fordyce, died in 1915. She leaves one daughter, Miss Margaret Hagan, at home; one son, Edward Fordyce, of Pine Bank; two foster children, Morris Taylor, of Pine Bank, and Thelma Taylor of Parsons, W. Va.; two grandchildren, Kent and Joseph Fordyce, of Pine Bank, and two great-grandchildren, Richard Fordyce and John Morris Weimer. Mrs. Fordyce was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Funeral services will be held at the Fordyce home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. C. C. Fisher, of Waynesburg, in charge. Interment will be in the Pine Bank cemetery.
