Lucinda Rinehart Fordyce Obituary

Mrs. Lucy Fordyce, wife of Henry Fordyce, Esq. of Frosty Run, died at her home on last Tuesday April 28, 1885; from measles; aged about 40 years.

Mrs. Fordyce was an accomplished and highly respected lady, and her loss will be severely felt not alone by the sorrowing friends and immediate family for the love which she bore toward them, but by all who knew her, for her kind disposition tending to disseminate peace and love among everyone in her presence.

She was a member of the M. P. church and was a zealous worker in the house of the Lord. The remains were interred in the cemetery at this place, on Thursday. The sorrowing friends have the sympathy of their acquanitances and the community.

We chronicle the death of Mrs. H. Fordyce, wife of Henry Fordyce, which occurred at the home of her husband on Frosty Run, this county, on Tuesday last, April 28th, 1885, after a comparatively short illness of heart disease. The deceased lady was aged about thirty-six years. She was the widow of the late John G. Fordyce, Esq., a well-known Philadelphia salesman - at the time she married her present bereaved husband - and was well and widely known and esteemed for her many attractive traits of character, and her early death will be sincerely mourned by many endearing friends. The remains were brought to this place on Thursday last, and interred in Green Mount Cemetery, a large concourse of relatives and friends from the community in which she lived and died, attending the last sad and impressive rites.
