LUCY FORDYCE

Lucy Fordyce, 92, one of Waynesburg's oldest residents, died at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 1956 at the home of her son, Theodore Fordyce, 53 West Franklin street, after an illness of three weeks.

She was born June 10, 1864 in Franklin Township and spent all her life in Waynesburg and vicinity. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Waynesburg. She was the last of her family.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. W. C. (Pearl) English, Miami, Fla., and two sons, L. J. Fordyce of Detroit, Mich. and Theodore Fordyce of Waynesburg. She also leaves one grandchild and four great-grandchildren.


FORDYCE - Friends of Lucy Fordyce of 53 West Franklin street, who died Wednesday evening, Aug. 29, 1956, wll be received after 7 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Weaver Funeral Home, 182 West High street where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, with Rev. Ronald E. Moseley officiating. Interment will be in Green Mount Cemetery.

Mrs. Lucy Fordyce, 92 years, died Wednesday night, August 29, 1956, in the home of her son, Theodore R. Fordyce, West franklin street. She had been in failing health for some time and seriously ill three weeks. Mrs. Fordyce was born June 10, 1864 in Franklin Township. She was a member of the First Methodist Church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. W. C. English of Miami Florida; two sons, L. J. Fordyce of Detroit, Michigan, and Theodore R. Fordyce of Waynesburg; one grandchild and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday in the Weaver Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Ronald Moseley. Interment in Green Mount Cemetery.
