Margaret S. Fordyce was born in Pennsylvania, October 24, 1819; died April 13, 1893, aged 73 years, 5 months and 20 days. She was united in marriage to Jones [sic] J. Fordyce, February 21, 1839. They lived happily together until August 9, 1873, when death separated them by taking her husband to the home beyond to await her coming. She spent most of her life in Kosciusko Co. She moved with her parents to this county about the year 1830 when there were but few white families in the county. After her marriage she lived a short time in Ohio and also in Illinois then returned to this county where she lived until her death, enduring the hardships of early life. She was patient, industrious and always kind and affectionate and loved by all who knew her. She leaves six children to mourn the loss of a loving mother, two sons and four daughters, one son having died in infancy. How can we wish her recalled from her home       Longer in sorrowing exile to roam. Safely she past from her troubles beneath       Victory, victory in death Thus let her slumber till Christ from the skies       Bids her in glorified body arise.
