Mrs. Martha L. Fordyce
Mrs. Martha Leonard Fordyce, aged 88, widow of Archibald Fordyce, of Coe, Mich., died February 1, 1929, and funeral services were held the following Monday afternoon in the Coe church. Interment was at Coe, Mich. Mrs. Fordyce was born January 7, 1841, in Greene county and was a daughter of Rev. William Leonard, one of Greene county's pioneer ministers. She was the last of a large family. In August of 1859 she was married to Archibald Fordyce and to this union was born one son, Ezekiel G., who died three years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Fordyce went to Michigan in 1865 and spent the remainder of their lives there. In her girlhood days, Mrs. Fordyce united with the Christian church and remained a faitful member until her death. She leaves two grandchildren, Faye Fordyce and Mrs. Linnie McNaughton, of Coe, Mich. Mrs. Archibald Fordyce Passes Away Friday at the Age of 88 Years Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the Coe church for Mrs. Archibald Fordyce, who passed away Friday, Feb. 1st, aged 88 years, 3 months and 3 days. Martha Leonard was born in Greene County, Penns., January 7, 1841. In August 1859, she was united in marriage with Archibald Fordyce. To this union was born one son, Ezekiel C., who departed this life three years ago. Mrs. Fordyce and her husband came to Michigan in March, 1865.
