Mrs. Sarah J. Fordyce, aged 80 years, widow of James H. Fordyce, died Thursday morning, December 24, 1925, at her home in North Richhill street. She had been in ill health for about a year and her condition had been serious for two months. Mrs. Fordyce was a daughter of W. H. and Nancy Gilette Murdock and was born October 18, 1845, at Fordyce. She was a member of the Baptist church and had resided in Waynesburg since 1909. She was the mother of eight children, all of whom survive as follows: G. D. Fordyce, of Prosser, Wash.; Dr. W. E. Fordyce, of Sunnyside, Wash.; Mrs. W. K. Conklin, of Yakima, Wash.; John W, Fordyce, of Rossville, Ill.; Mrs. S. K. Chouts (?) of Port Washington, N. Y.; Mr. L. M. Hickman and Mrs. G. B. Scott, of Washington, and Miss Nannie Fordyce, of Pittsburgh. Two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Conway, of Garards Fort, and Mrs. Emma Spragg, of Waynesburg, R. D. 3, also survive. Funeral services were held at her late home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. A. J. Morris in charge. Interment was in Greene Mount cemetery.
