MRS. JOSEPH FORDYCE Mrs. Sarah Fordyce, an aged resident of Springhill township, died at her home at Ned, Thursday, June 5, aged 81 years. Mrs. Fordyce was born September 28, 1848 and had lived all her life in the southwestern part of the county. She was a member of the Christian church. Her husband died 33 years ago. She was the mother of nine children, seven of whom survive as follows: William Fordyce and Mrs. May Flaherty, of Ned; George Fordyce, Browns Run; Mrs. Flora Stevens, Mannington, W. Va.; Mrs. Lyda Fordyce, Deep Valley; John Fordyce, at home, and Thomas Fordyce, Cameron, W. Va. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Sand Hill church. Interment in the church cemetery. Waynesburg Republican, June 12, 1930 (Greene County, PA)
