Mrs. Virginia Presock Fordyce, 45 years, wife of Minor Fordyce of Mt. Morris R. D. 1, died Wednesday, January 17, 1962, in Greene County Memorial Hospital. She had been seriously ill two weeks. Mrs. Fordyce was a daughter of Jacob and Pearl Brant Hoover Presock, and was born July 16, 1916, in Fayette County. She had spent most of her life in the Mt. Morris community and was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Surviving are her husband; four daughters, Shirley, wife of Brady Cavendish of Peoria, Ill.; Grace, wife of Charles Strosnider, and Mrs. Mildred Burges, both of Mt. Morris, and Marlene, at home; two sons, Raymond of Clarksville R. D. 1, and Paul, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Grace Presock of Washington D. C.; Mrs. Rebecca Allen of Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. Esther Allen of Paw Paw, W. Va., and four brothers, George of Greensboro R. D. 1; Jacob of Carmichaels R. D. 1; Theodore of Carmichaels, and Clyde of Dilliner. One sister and one brother are deceased. Funeral services were held Saturday in the Assembly of God Church, conducted by Rev. Allen Shuttlesworth. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Newspaper obituary, date and source unknown (Greene County, PA)
