BERTHA HEADLEE FOX
Bertha Headlee Fox, 91, of Mt. Morris, R.D.1, (Shannon Run) died at 11 p.m. Friday, September 23, 1966, at her home following a lengthy illness. She was born January 31, 1884, in Perry Township, the daughter of the late William M. and Margaret A. Lemley Headlee. She was married October 15, 1919 to Ray Fox, who died January 12, 1966. All of her life was spent in Perry Township on the farm where she was born. She was a member of the Shannon Run Methodist Church, where she had served in many Capacities. AT the time of her death she was a steward in the church. She was a graduate of California State Teachers College, and had taught school for many years in Perry Township. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. William S. (Margaret Perle) Pettit of Mt. Morris, R.D.; two foster sons, John Franklin Fox of Mt. Morris, R.D. 1 and Victor D. Patterson in the U.S. Army in France; three grandchildren; three nieces, Mrs. Ernest (Phyllis) Lemley of Kirby; Mrs. Paul E. (Eleanor) Phillips of Ford City and Mrs. Louise Eisenberg of Kansas City, Mo. And one nephew, William Franklin Headlee of Waymart. She was the last of her immediate family.
