Former machinist and mine foreman
Kenneth E. Fox, 61, of 169 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, died unexpectely at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 1997, in Greene County Memorial Hospital emergency room. He was born August 30, 1935, in Cabbage Flats, Greene County, a son of Alva Fox of Carmichaels R.D. 1 and the late Mildred Crago Fox. Mr. Fox lived his entire life in Greene County. He was a member of Washington Street United Methodist Church in Waynesburg, where he was a former member of the trustee board. He was a member of the Waynesburg Masonic Lodge No. 153, F&AM, Uniontown Lodge of Perfection and the Pittsburgh Consistory. Mr. Fox was also a member of the Syria Temple AAONMS and belonged to the Carmichaels Grange No. 1389. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. For 12 years he worked as a machinist for Crile Machine Shop in Washington. He then worked for Nemacolin Coal Mine for seven years as a foreman. From 1984 until his death he owned and operated Kenneth E. Fox Safety Consultant Inc., teaching mine safety and doing consultanting. His wife, Nancy Stevenson Fox, whom he married April 14, 1957, survives. Surviving, in addition to his wife and father, are one brother, Jesse W. Fox of Greensboro R.D.1; one aunt, Dorothy Smitley of Greensboro R.D.1; and several nieces and nephews. Washington Observer-Reporter, August 23, 1997 (Greene County, PA) |
