Lifelong Greene County resident was housekeeper
Olive Fox, 91, of Clarksville R.D.1, died at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 1999, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg. She was born June 25, 1907, in Whiteley Township, a daughter of Joseph and Rebecca Rice Fordyce. Mrs. Fox lived her entire life in Greene County, and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Lippencott. She was a homemaker and did house work for several families. On January 19, 1935, she married Ralph S. Fox, who died November 5, 1971. Surviving are a daughter, Gladys P. Craig of Clarksville R.D.1; several foster children whom she helped raise; two grandchildren, Larry Shaffer and Rose K. Bush; three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Josephine Kerns of Warren, Ohio; a brother, Miller Fordyce of Carmichaels; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are four sisters, Edith Fordyce, Mary Pyles, Flora Belle Herrod and Margaret Callahan; six brothers, Minor, James, Richard, Joseph, George and Hartford J. Fordyce; and a great-grandson.
FOX - Friends of Olive Fox of Clarksville R.D.1, who died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 20, with the Rev.
