William C. Frye
William C. Frye, aged 90, former Greene County Commissioner, died at his home on Waynesburg R. D. 7, at 10:30 a.m. yesterday from complications induced by old age. Mr. Frye was born June, 1845 on the same farm where he died. He was a farmer by occupation during his earlier years. His parents were the late William and Susannah Strosnider Frye. Mr. Frye was a Democrat by politics and never missed an election from the time he was first able to cast a vote. He served one term as county commissioner. He was first marrried to Elizabeth Bailyand one daughter by this marriage survives, Mrs. Lida Maple, Fairmont, W. Va. Later in 1897, he was married to Nannie Riley Frye, who survives, together with two foster children: Paul Peters and Mrs. Sudie Baysinger. Mr. Frye was the last of a family of 11. Short services will be held at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the home followed by further services in Throckmorten M. E. Church. Newspaper obituary, date and source unknown (Greene County, PA) |
