Mrs. Effie Cole Gump

Mrs. Effie Cole Gump, aged 49 years, died at 6:45 o'clock last night, Jan. 16, 1939. Mrs. Gump had been an invalid for the past seven years, but her condition did not become serious until last Friday.

A daughter of Peter and Hannah Cooper Cole, she was born July 13, 1889, in Wayne Township and spent all her life in the Brave community where she was well known. She was a member of the Kent Methodist Episcopal Church. SHe was married March 13, 1912, to Edward S. Gump, who survives. She also leaves one son, Wilbur Lee Shriver, of Kuhntown, two grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: J. W. COle, of Bristoria; Mrs. H. W. Patterson, Waynesburg, R. D. 7; Mrs. B. R. Gump, Mrs. J. I. Kent, Mrs. Roy Wise, Mrs. G. B. Shultz and W. O. Cole, all of Brave. Mrs. Gump was the mother of a daughter who died in infancy.

MRS. EDWARD S. GUMP DIES IN HOME AT BRAVE

Waynesburg, Jan. 16. - Mrs. Effie Cole Gump, 49, died Monday, Jan. 16, at 6:45 P.M., at her home in Brave.

She had been an invalid for seven years, suffering from rheumatism. She was seriously ill since Friday.

She was born in Wayne Township July 13, 1889. She was a daughter of Hannah Cooper Cole, of Brave, and the late Peter Cole. She was married May 13, 1912, to Edward S. Gump. who survives. All her life was spent in Wayne Township.

Besides her mother and husband, she leaves one son, Wilbur Lee Shriver, of Kuhntown. A daughter died in infancy. The following brothers and sisters survive: J. W. Cole, of Bristoria; Mrs. W. H. Patterson, of Waynesburg, R. D. 7; Mrs. B/ R. Gump, Mrs. J. I. Kent, Mrs. Roy Wise, Mrs. G. B. Shultz and W. O. Cole, all of Brave. Two grandchildren also survive.

She was a member of the Kent M. E. Church, at Brave.

Funeral will be held Wednesday, Jan. 18. Short services at the home at 12:30 o'clock, will be followed by services in the Kent M. E. Church, in charge of the Rev. G. D. Watts and the Rev. C. C. O'Neil. Burial will be in the Greene County Memorial Park.
