Vera S. Haines, 63, of Munsey Street, Morgantown, W. Va., formerly of Waynesburg, died at 8:10 a.m. Monday, March 4, 1991, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, following a lengthy illness.

She was born February 8, 1928, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Roy Shultz and Leona Kiger Shultz, who survives.

Most of her life was spent in Waynesburg, but she lived in Morgantown for the past 27 years. She was affiliated with the Methodist faith and was a former member of the Washington Street Methodist Church in Waynesburg.

She was an active volunteer with the American Cancer Society in Morgantown and Greene County, and was also a volunteer for the the American Heart Association of Greene County. She was a former member of the Social Service League of Greene County.

Mrs. Haines was an accountant for West Virginia University, retiring in 1989.

Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband, L. Victor Haines, whom she married December 26, 1946; two sons, Dick Haines of Cleveland, Ga., and Brad Haines of Greensboro, N.C.; a brother, John R. Shultz of Waynesburg; and two grandsons.
