EDWIN REX HEADLEE
Edwin Rex Headlee, 49, husband of Thirza Bebout Headlee, of North Bridge street, died suddenly at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1953, after an illness of the past three years. He was born Jan. 1, 1904, a son of the late W. O. and Margaret Headlee and lived all his life in the Waynesburg community. His father was well known here, serving as editor of the Greene County Democrat and later as editor of the Democrat Messenger. He also was once Greene County clerk of courts. Surviving in addition to his wife are three brothers, Ray, of Akron, O.; Burgess-elect Fay Headlee, and Glenn Headlee, druggist, both of Waynesburg and two sisters, Myrtle Headlee, of Waynesburg and Mrs. C. A. Atwell, of Wilkinsburg. Five nephews and two nieces also are living. He was a member of the Waynesburg First Methodist Church.
HEADLEE - Funeral services for Edwin Rex Headlee, husband of Thirza Bebout Headlee, of North Bridge street, Waynesburg, who died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1953, will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m., from the Garrison Funeral Home, East High street, in charge of Rev. Edwin Rex Headlee, 49 years, died suddenly Wednesday morning, November 4, 1953, in his home. He had been in failing health from a heart condition for three years. Mr. Headlee was a son of the late W.O. and Margaret H. Headlee, and was born in Waynesburg January 1, 1904. He had spent his life in Waynesburg. Until two years ago when ill health forced retirement, Mr. Headlee had been employed in the Peoples Bank Building. He was a member of the First Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Thirza Beabout Headlee; three brothers, Ray Headlee of Akron, Ohio; Fay Headlee and Glenn Headlee, both of Waynesburg; two sisters, Myrtle Headlee of Waynesburg, and Mrs. C.A. Atwell of Wilkinsburg, and five nephews and two nieces. Funeral services were held Saturday in the Garrison Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Lindley Shearer. Interment in Greene County Memorial Park. He was employed at the Peoples National Bank Building until about two years ago, when failing health forced his retirement. He was a lifelong member of the First Methodist Church of Waynesburg. Surviving besides his wife, are three brothers, Ray Headlee, of Akron, O.; Fay Headlee and Glenn Headlee, both of Waynesburg; two sisters, Myrtle Headlee, of Waynesburg, and Mrs. C.A.
