REV. HARRY J. HEADLEE
Rev. Harry J. Headlee, 91, of 407 Franklin Ave., Wilkinsburg, formerly of Greene County, died at 3 a.m. Sunday, November 10, 1974, in the Ivy Nursing Home, Pittsburgh, following a long illness. He was born January 1, 1883, in Perry Township, Greene County, a son of David Lincoln and Sarah E. Headlee Headlee. Although he had resided most of his life in Pittsburgh, Rev. Headlee had lived his early life in Perry Township. Prior to entering the ministry he had been employed by the Westinghouse Corp., Pittsburgh. His ministry was in the United Methodist Church. He retired from the ministry in June, 1965. Churches he had served included those at Homestead Park, Mt. Washington, Swissvale, Ligonier, Vandergrift and Erwin. Surviving are his widow, Rebecca Moody Headlee, one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Carol) Schempp, Wilkinsburg; one son, Haryl Hugh Headlee, Apollo; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Eva D. John, Waynesburg and one brother, L. Floyd Headlee, Nemacolin. One sister and one brother are deceased. Newspaper obituary, date and source unknown (Greene County, PA) |
